"They feared the Lord, and served their own gods,"
2 Kings 17:33a (KJV)
So these nations feared the Lord, and served their graven images, both their children, and their children's children: as did their fathers, so do they unto this day.
2 Kings 17:41 (KJV)
Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
James 2:19-20 (KJV)
This is awesome. It's an awesome point, and one that I've been thinking on quite a bit lately. People do tend to fear things that they needn't. If you let something take over your life (even if it is something physical; like a possession), then you give that thing power over you. Then you fear losing it. That fear is less than healthy. But I believe that having fear in The Lord is healthy. After all, He does have complete power. Such a cool post!
